Nais - I disagree with your order (I'd put Black Swan way down and Social Network first), but I absolutely agree with your thoughts on The King's Speech. All this enthusiasm has me baffled. I just think people assume that anything with British accents is automatically great.

And I found it flat and superficial. Topics are raised, yes, but hardly explored. Some lovely acting, but absolutely no deeper artistry there.

I can't believe you're saying that. Eisenberg was extraordinary. In everything else he was the same naif, but here he was layered, with coldness, defensiveness, arrogance and sensitivity all combined and perfectly present. It's Michael Cera who keeps playing the same guy over and over.

The Social Network was the most creative, perfectly formed work of art in the bunch, so far above any of the others. I'd put the very different Winter's Bone and Inception in a tie for second. The King's Speech was flat, uninvolving and simplistic.

I wanted to see it, but certainly not now. Liked Reese best in her first film, "The Man In The Moon", which is a beautiful movie. Also loved her in "Freeway" and in a little-seen contemporary noir called "Best Laid Plans" with Alessandro Nivola and Josh Brolin.

Lady Gaga is totally sublime. She blends performance art with an eclectic mix of dance, electronica and rock to achieve pure blissful creative fabulousness. A goddess, pure and simple.
